Get more done with this simple (but not easy!) tip

My wife, Sarah, likes to joke that all I do all day is teach remodelers common sense stuff. While she's not 100% right, I'm not going to say she's wrong…

The key thing is that while something may be simple and common sense - that doesn’t mean it's easy!

As a business owner or key employee you are being pulled in 100 different directions everyday. You probably have the best of intentions to "implement this marketing strategy" or "follow up with that prospect" or "have that tough conversation with your employee" (or fill in the blank).

Managing your time and responsibilities is not easy, but a key variable in your success and growth as a business and as a person is learning to master your time and to focus.

Here's some simple and wise advice on this subject from a great business mind, Jim Rohn: "The best advice I ever came across on the subject of concentration is: Wherever you are, be there."

This might mean:

  • When you are presenting a proposal to a prospect... BE THERE.
  • When you are playing a game with your kids… BE THERE.
  • When you are meeting with your employees about a project... BE THERE.
  • When you are working on new content for your website... BE THERE.
  • Wherever you are... BE THERE.

It's a subtle mind shift, but one that can easily be done and the result (at least for me) is increased productivity and decreased stress.

Try it this upcoming week -- to increase your concentration/focus. "Wherever you are, be there." Let me know how this simple (but not easy!) approach works for you.
